A Fuchsite Mica resin band adorns this characterful hiking stick

Handmade from hazel coppiced at 100 Acer Conservation Project in Wotton-under-Edge. Approx 146cm tall, this stick has dark & golden brown bark with a little bronze mottling and features a Fuchsite Mica resin band at the bottom, a custom copper ferrule with replaceable tungsten steel hiking spike and adjustable jute wrist strap. A medium sized hiking stick that's full of character and built to last, perfect for daily dog walks or more demanding hikes. These tungsten tips grip exceptionally well on all surfaces. What is Fuchsite? Fuchsite, also known as Green Muscovite and Chrome Mica, is a crystal of the mica family. It’s green colour comes from the natural addition of Chromium to its genetic compound. It's usually a very light green stone but it can also be found in a medium to dark green. Fuchsite crystallises in the form of masses, scales, layered plates, and even tiny tabular crystals. - Size: approx 146cm tall, 27mm at the top and 17mm at the base - Wood: Cotswold hazel, with bark left intact - Top: domed - Shank: slight curve and knotty character - Ferrule: custom copper with Fuchsite Mica resin band and replaceable tungsten steel tip - Lanyard: adjustable, natural jute with copper wire - Finish: Sanded to a soft sheen and treated to several coats of 100% natural Danish oil and beeswax, hand-poured by Rhoose Point Remedies, Vale of Glamorgan in Wales.
