Cornish Driftwood Drop Earrings with Green Tourmaline Inlay
Crushed green tourmaline set into driftwood from a Cornish beach - soft, understated, and so light they're barely there.
Handmade wooden drop earrings, cut from driftwood gathered on a Cornish beach and inlaid with crushed green tourmaline. The stone inlay runs the full length of each piece, a soft olive-green line set into pale wood. Closer to moss than to anything you'd find in a jeweller's window. Tourmaline gets its green from traces of iron and chromium in the rock it formed in, and the crushed stone keeps that variation — the line reads darker in places and almost sandy in others rather than one flat colour. The driftwood has been sanded lightly and oiled and keeps the weathering that years in the sea gave it. The grain is light and open, which lets the green sit against it without either fighting the other. Light enough to forget you're wearing them. The silver-tone hooks are attached with handmade copper jump rings. Copper or sterling silver hooks are available as upgrades.
